Take extra good care of your body because it is the only place you’ll ever have to live in. Consuming more greens either through salads, smoothies or juices, can make you feel more alive, vital and energized. There is no diet that can do what healthy eating can. But eating about 2 cups of fruits and 3 cups of vegetables per day is not that easy. That is exactly why you need to start juicing today.

To make the experience of drinking juices more enjoyable, you need to find your perfect juice maker that suits your needs. There are five main types of juicers, and each one has advantages and disadvantages.

Centrifugal Juicers

These are the most common types of juicers that you will find in many stores and online sites. They are often upright and cylindrical in shape. Centrifugal juicers grate fruits and vegetables into tiny pieces, then use sieve to spin the juice out of the pulp at a high speed, and extract the juice. They have large mouth so you do not have to cut fruits into smaller pieces, and this means less preparation work. Centrifugal juicers are also easy to clean. However, their disadvantage is that when it comes to juicing leafy greens, generally, they do not perform well.

Masticating Juicers

These single gear juicers use a screw-type auger to grind, crush and chew fruits, vegetables and leafy greens. They extract the pulp and the juice into separate containers. Masticating juicers produce a drier pulp which means extraction of more nutrients. They can also be used for making sauces, baby food, pasta and frozen ice creams. Their one disadvantage, however, is the fact that they have a smaller mouth and you have to cut the fruits into smaller pieces. They have more parts, therefore, they take a little longer to clean up.

Triturating juicers

These twin gear juicers are high-technology and are surely one of the best on the market. They are similar to masticating juicers, but their motor is slower, which means they extract maximum nutrients. Triturating juicers are the best you can get, therefore, they have a pretty high price.

Wheat-grass juicers are specifically designed to extract juice from wheat-grass.

On the other hand, if you plan on making green juices regularly or you want quality green juices, it is advisable to spend extra money on a good juicer. A cheap juicer might serve your needs now, but you will end up spending a small fortune for updates in the long run.
