A Simple Guide to Camping Vol. 1: Toilets

camping

If you’re one of the fewer people that are not big fans of luxury hotels with 5 stars and private jets cause you simply prefer a nice, joyful family vacation that will distract you from your everyday chores, camping might be just for you. Camping is all about the closeness of the family and the friends, the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want it and the most important of all, the chance to revel in nature. Besides, it’s the perfect vacation plan if you have kids. When kids go camping they get to experience so many things that cannot be taught at school, at home or on the street. It’s important for them to learn how to handle themselves out in the open, to see the animals in their natural habitat and to learn to appreciate what Mother Nature has given us. Camping can provide many valuable lessons for your kids and even if they don’t like it now, they will be thanking you for it in about twenty years or so.

When you finally decide to try out camping, you have to consider many things before starting your adventure. The simple guide series will be of a big help if you’re a newbie. So first things first, you have to choose what will you be sleeping in. You can choose a tent or a camping caravan, which is way more comfortable if you have kids. If you’re however in for an adventure with friends or your loved one, you can always go with a tent. You’ll also need a lot of lighting because it’s very probable that you won’t find electricity in the woods or the mountain and since there are plenty of lightning products out there, it’s up to you if you want to go with special camping lights, flashlights or other alternatives. But more on this in one of my next camping guides.

When we’re talking camping, probably one of the most important things that somehow many people forget about, is the toilet. It’s definitely a topic we avoid in a polite conversation, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not important. Even on a campsite you’ll need a place to “go”, so this particular subject may be one of the reasons why many people are not comfortable camping, but with today’s technology and innovations it really shouldn’t be. Today you can find great toilet utensils specialized for camping so you won’t have to worry about your needs when nature calls. But keep in mind, if you want a decent toilet caravan should definitely be your choice. Caravans can come with built-in toilets which normally have a removable cassette waste holding tank, or if your caravan doesn’t include it, you can buy your own mobile toilet. These kind of toilets are usually very easy and comfortable to use and the newest models even include a vent button to stop splashing when you’re emptying your waste tank. Whichever toilet caravan usage you choose, you have to take the time and carefully read the instructions to make sure you’ll be using it correctly, because many times a slight mistake can make big problems. And you don’t want problems of that kind when camping!
